Avanti Torrent, first impression review

Took the torrent out for a spin in the morning, almost crashed when I went straight into a tent rope(outta nowhere) and bend my brake cable, luckily it wasn't badly damage and still worked fine.

Alright here's a short write up, didn't spent alot of time on the torrent as I was feeling lethargic real quickly, an empty stomach and just simply too long never ride, lol.

Everything's stock other than the pedals, well it came with spds stocked.

Frame : The tubing, wields, linkage, tapered headtube, pivots with torque rating are all very well made. Ride wise, very stiff, , absolutely no bobbing when climbing as I looked down on the rear shock, either the (TRU LINK) 4-bar suspension design worked or avanti's custom tuned Fox Float worked.

Very good at corners, climbs relatively well( a lil twitchy) too and descents awesome. Nothing surprising because it has a pretty steep head angle.

Components : I have the Torrent 1, the lowest range of the Torrents. The new RockShox Sektor feels awesome, plush out of the box, easy to tune and stiff. Truvativ Firex crankset, never used truvative crankset before, I was surprise, very smooth BB, puts slx/xt BB to shame out of the box, or maybe because the chain line is very well designed on the torrent compared to my previous rides.

The brake, works pretty well with decent stopping power(dry), don't really like the range and feel of the levers but well, won't ask for more because it is an entry brakeset afterall.

The shifters feels squishy, well like the brakes, its entry, it shifts, can't fault it. As for the wheelset, no comments because I have nothing good or bad to say about them, probably weigh a ton though.

Overall the bike weighs in at just under 15kg(Size L) which is considerably heavy at 135mm rear suspension, still, it didn't feel as sluggish as it should at this weight and kenda nevegals on.

Overall, alot of bike with not alot of money!(it's been 7 years since avanti made full suspensions)

I will be post a more thorough review after spending more time on the torrent.
